Frequently Asked Questions.

We've answered some of the most common questions below. If you don't see what you're looking for, we'd love to hear from you!

What is Electric Nutrition?

Electric Nutrition is a nutrition practice focused on helping women thrive through evidence-based, personalised nutrition support. We specialise in metabolic support, body composition, women's energy and longevity, with a warm, real-life approach that fits into your actual life.

Who can you work with?

We work primarily with healthy women who want to feel more energised and build long-term habits for health. Whether you're navigating the perimenopause, struggling with energy crashes, or simply wanting to feel better in your body, you're in the right place.

Are you a dietitian or a clinical nutritionist?

Bree is a Nationally Recognised Nutritionist (NRN). She is not a dietitian or a clinic nutritionist, but is registered and insured to work with healthy individuals in a preventative and lifestyle nutrition context. While both dietitians and nutritionists work in the nutrition space, dietitians are registered health professionals who can provide clinical medical nutrition therapy (e.g., for eating disorders or medically complex conditions). As a Nationally Recognised Nutritionist, I provide evidence-based nutrition education, personalised guidance, and practical support. At Electric Nutrition, screening takes place prior to our first appointment together, to ensure that you sit within the scope of practice of an NRN. If a clinical referral is needed, I will let you know.

What qualifications do you hold?

Bree holds the following qualifications in nutrition and education:

  • Graduate Certificate in Human Nutrition - Deakin University - working towards a Graduate Diploma (Masters Pathway).

  • Certificate IV Nutrition and Wellness Coaching - Clean Health.

  • Bachelor of Arts (Outdoor Education) - La Trobe University.

  • Graduate Diploma Education (Applied Learning) - Deakin University

Consultations

What happens before our first consultation?

Prior to your first session, you will receive and email with all of the documentation that will need to filled out before your initial consultation. This helps us get the most out of our in-person session and helps me get to know you. You will fill out a Risk Stratification Screening Tool to help me screen for any chronic health conditions that sit outside of my scope of practice, and require referral. Plus, a Client Questionnaire that will ask you about your health history, your dietary habits, goals and lifestyle. These documents are so important and they help me to personalise our first meeting together.

What happens during our first consultation?

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We'll go through your health history, your relationship with food, your goals, your lifestyle, and anything that's been getting in the way. From there, we'll work together to start building a realistic plan that actually suits your life, no one-size-fits-all here.

How long are consultations?

This depends on your chosen consultation. A walking (or sitting) consult is 60mins and an in depth consultation is 90mins . Please check the relevant services page for further details.

Are consultations in-person or online?

We are currently offering in-person consultations in the local area of St Helens, on the East Coast of Tasmania. But as the business expands we may look at offering online consultations. Feel free to express your interest via the contact page if you would like online consults.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person depending on your goals and circumstances. Some clients achieve what they need in a handful of sessions, while others enjoy ongoing support over several months. We'll give you an honest recommendation after your first consultation.

Pricing and Payments

How much does it cost?

Pricing for consultations and programs is listed on our website. We believe in transparency, no hidden fees. If you have any questions about what's included, just ask.

Do I pay upfront or after my consultation?

In an attempt to keep everyone more accountable and reduce cancellations, we have adopted to securely take card details duirng booking but take full payment at the end of your chosen service.

Due to the health screening that needs to happen before your booking is confirmed, this is the most streamline process for everyone. Please read our cancellation policy here.

Can I claim my consultation on private health insurance?

Due to the type of nutritionist registration held, you will not be able to claim your consultations with your private health funds. Consultations are priced with this in mind.

Is nutrition advice safe for me if I have a medical condition?

Your safety is our priority. Before your first consultation, you'll complete a health history form. If you have a complex medical condition, we may recommend you seek a GP clearance for us to work together or a referral to an appropriate health professional will be made. We will always be transparent with you about the scope of our practice.

Can you help me if I have a chronic health condition?

A Nationally Recognised Nutritionist works within a specific scope of practice. We can see healthy clients that are free from chronic illness or disease but we are unable to help clients that suffer from major illness or health complications. You can find more information regarding the classification of a chronic illness and our full scope of practice here.

Can you help with weight loss?

Yes! Weight management and body composition is one of our key areas of focus. Our approach is sustainable, compassionate, and grounded in evidence, not quick fixes or extreme diets. We work with you to understand the 'why' behind your eating patterns and create lasting change.

Do you offer support for peri/menopause ?

Absolutely. Nutrition plays a huge role in how women experience changes during these phases of life. We can provide tailored support around energy, weight changes, mood, sleep, and more during perimenopause and menopause. We use food and nutrition to help soften these transitions and help you feel your best.
